Deformation of Materials under Extreme Compression (DMEC) Group

Our research mainly focuses on two directions:

One is the structure and mechanics of materials under extreme conditions, with a special interest in the strength and deformation behavior under high pressure and high temperature, phase transition mechanism, and the compressibility of both ceramics and metals, while also considering the size effect.

The other direction concerns the electronic behavior of functional materials under pressure. Material systems that I’m interested in include van der Waals layered materials and high-entropy ceramics.
