Welcome to RTH Lab

Our research interests focus on understanding the physics and chemistry of light elements at extreme conditions. Using the diamond anvil cell, we are capable of exceeding pressures at the centre of the earth (>300 GPa), whilst using auxiliary heating/cooling techniques, capable of exhibiting samples to a broad temperature regime (5 K – 3000 K).

These objectives can be realized through our state-of-the art Raman spectroscopy lab, HPSTARs dynamic range of supporting equipment and external facilities (X-ray synchrotron and neutron sources).
